Zabývá se problematikou základního výzkumu a vývoje v biologické antropologii pravěku, zejména v oblasti archeogenetiky a ekologie člověka. Spolupracuje s řadou domácích i zahraničních pracovišť na projektech týkajících se evoluce člověka v Africe a jeho šíření do Eurasie. Sleduje také vliv subsistenčních strategií na genetický profil lidských populací. V této problematice vede bakalářské, magisterské a doktorské práce na přírodovědecké fakultě UK v Praze.
