Since it was first established, the library of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (ARÚB) has been constantly collecting books and magazines not only from the field of archaeology, but also from related scientific disciplines. Its services are used by employees and the professional public. It provides around 2 500 loans a year.

The library’s information fund focuses on the needs of scientific research carried out by ARÚB. The library acquires new books through exchange and purchasing new titles. The library works with 380 exchange partners, 330 of which are based abroad. The basic fund currently contains more than 44 000 library units. The library’s exchange fund contains publications created by the institute particularly for exchange with international institutions.
