In this project conceptually new tandem processes consisting of asymmetric conjugate addition reactions and 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions will be developed. This methodology will allow a one-step access to functionalized saturated carbo- and heterocycles. The applicability in forming polycycles will be explored with the aim to approach natural products such as alkaloids or terpenes, and non-natural peptides in a concise way.
