Abstract

The project will be conducted at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS and in collaboration with Institute of Physiology of the CAS. The project is focused on a study of new synthetic proteins composed from two functional different protein domains and their properties. The studied systems are based on combination of artificial protein domains and intracellular protein domain - PDZ (from ZO-1, INAD) serving as cytoskeleton and membrane-proteins anchors. These fusion synthetic chimeras will be studied upon their ability to bind transient receptor potential (TRP) channels as their natural occurring binding partners.

The research in the field of biochemistry, biophysics and structural biology employs the following main approaches: bioinformatics, functional proteomics, recombinant protein expression, biophysical methods, protein NMR and molecular modeling and simulations.
