Coupled infrared-⁠active phonon modes: All we always wanted to know

Abstract: I will present several alternative algebraic representations of the system of coupled damped harmonic dipoles. I'll try to grasp the physical meaning of it. The theorems will be applied to infrared spectra of real perovskite crystals.
