Activities

  • Storage, record keeping and cutting of metallurgical and non-metallic materials (vertical and horizontal band saw, lever shears)
  • Machining of metallic and non-metallic materials using lathes (5 stands), milling machines (4 stands) and drilling machines (4 stands)
  • Sharpening of tools and grinding of machine parts using tool grinding machines, surface grinding machines and centre grinders
  • Manufacture of parts and small functional assemblies for vacuum, optical and chemical apparatuses
  • Consultations with scientific staff on technical problems and plans for their solution together with assistance in the preparation of shop and assembly drawings
  • Locksmith, tinsmith and plumber work, welding and maintenance in the Institute’s premises.
