Antonín Holý's Office Opens to the Public on the Occasion of the Fifth Anniversary of His Decease

It will have been five years this Sunday, July 16, since the passing of Antonín Holý, one of the most famous Czech scientists. The Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IOCB Prague) will open his restored office to the public again.

Prof. Antonín Holý (September 1, 1936–July 16, 2012), who was one of the most eminent Czech scientists of the last decades, passed away five years ago. Drugs based on his research such as Viread, Hepsera, Truvada, Atripla and others, have been essential for the millions of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B patients worldwide.

All interested individuals are invited to visit the restored office of Antonín Holý on the occasion of the anniversary. The office has reopened this May after the renovation of the campus was completed.

The restored office of Antonín Holý will open to the public on Monday, July 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours will start from the entrance lobby of IOCB Prague at Flemingovo nám. 2, Praha 6–Dejvice.
