The Central European Institute of Cosmology and Fundamental Physics (CEICO), at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position.
CEICO is a new research centre, established with funds from the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Czech Science Foundation, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the European Commission. The international team of experts is headed by Martin Schnabl and Costas Skordis and comprises staff members Michael Prouza, Ignacy Sawicki and Alex Vikman, senior scientists Ted Erler and Joris Raeymaekers and other ten postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. The team’s areas of research are: cosmology, gravity, string field theory, and instrumentation for cosmological observations.
Further information about CEICO and its research programmes may be found at http://www.ceico.cz.Applicants are expected to have at least three years of postdoctoral experience in Physics, Engineering or a related field. dThe experience in leading of a research team is beneficial. Candidates are expected to become (if not already) active in the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) project and/or Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC). The LSST is a telescope currently under development in Chile and is designed to conduct a ten-year survey of the Universe. DESC is preparing for LSST science analyses, make synergistic connections with ongoing cosmological surveys and provide the dark energy science community with state of the art analysis tools.
Further information about LSST and DESC can be found at https://www.lsst.org/ and at http://lsst-desc.org/
