Abstract:
A formula is derived for irreversible processes of a nonradiative transfer of either an electronic charge, or of the energy of electronic excited state, between two quasi-zero-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures, with electron-phonon interaction. The transfer rate formula is expected to be applicable to both a resonance transfer situation and also to the so called downhill and uphill type processes which are met e. g. in biological systems. Numerical examples demonstrate the use of the approach using two interacting CdSe quantum nanoparticles.
