Melanic form of Herophila tristis, with almost imperceptible elytral spots, is relatively common in higher elevations of central and north Peloponnese (Greece) mountain systems (Aroania, Kyllini, Menalo and Oligyrtos Mts. ranges). The depicted beetles were photographed by our friend Karel Hodek in Vitina environs (1500 m, Menalo Mts. range).
