Topic Synthesis and reactivity of hypervalent sulfur fluorides
Faculty FCHT VŠCHT, PřF UK
Abstract

Hypervalent sulfur fluorides (SF6, sulfur trifluorides, sulfur chlorotetrafluorides, sulfur pentafluorides) are novel and understudies class or compounds with interesting physicochemical properties. The lack of good synthetic methods available for the preparation of these compounds and inaccessibility of basic building blocks are currently the main constraints to the exploration of chemistry and development of applications of compounds with these functional groups. The work will be aimed at the preparation of hypervalent sulfur fluorides and study of their reactivity and physical properties.
