Mass Spectrometry (Dr. Josef Cvačka)

The research-service team uses mass spectrometry and related techniques for structural elucidation, characterization and identification of a broad range of organic substances. Independent and collaborative research in the team is focused on the development of new methods including instrumentation and software, and their applications for analysis of natural products (semiochemicals, lipids, peptides, proteins, etc.). Research-service team Mass spectrometry also performs service analyses of a large number of samples for colleagues from IOCB. The services include confirmation/determination of molecular weight and structure, identification and quantification of proteins and other types of analyses.
