The goals of the Ph.D. thesis are (1) to develop new ball-shaped chiral hybrid organic-inorganic nanomaterials (metallic or semiconductor nanoparticles functionalized by helically chiral π-electron systems) that can form tightly packed monolayers on patterned solid substrates and (2) to characterize such chiral hybrid nanomaterials by studying their structure, chiroptical properties, charge transport abilities or spin selectivity/polarization.
