Ostnohřbetka americká (Stictocephala bisonia) je křís (Auchenorrhyncha) původem ze Severní Ameriky. Na počátku 20. stol. byl tento druh zavlečen se sazenicemi ovocných stromů do Francie a postupně se šíří po Evropě. V České republice byl zaznamenán v r. 1994 na jižní Moravě. Autor popisuje hojné nálezy na severní Moravě a biologii druhu.

The buffalo treehopper (Stictocephala bisonia) is a cicada of the suborder Auchenorrhyncha (formerly known under the name Homoptera), originally coming from North America. In the early 20th century, this insect species was introduced with fruit-tree seedlings to France and it has been gradually spreading across Europe. In the Czech Republic, it was first noticed in South Moravia in 1994. The author describes the numerous findings in North Moravia and the biology of the species.
