Článek navazuje na předchozí text (Živa 2004, 5: 201-203), kde byly popsány radiační podmínky na Zemi a jejich změny v blízkosti rostlin. Nyní se autorka věnuje růstovým odpovědím rostlin na změny radiačních podmínek v jejich okolí, především reakcím na změny v oblasti červeného záření, které slouží jako signály přítomnosti sousedních rostlin. Pozornost je také věnována rozdílům v míře odpovědi jednotlivých druhů i populací.

This article develops the theme of the text in Živa No. 4/2004, which described radiation conditions of the Earth and changes in the vicinity of plants. The present text describes the reactions of plants to changes in radiation in their vicinity, primarily to changes in the red radiation spectrum, which signal the presence of neighbouring plants. Differences in responses of different species and populations are also demonstrated.
