Krátký úvodník tohoto čísla poukazuje na neostré a dynamicky se měnící hranice antropologie jako vědecké disciplíny. Text dává do kontextu výčet příspěvků, které se objevují v tomto speciálním čísle Živy a upozorňuje rovněž na některé studie, které se do souboru příspěvků s prostorových důvodů už nedostaly. Biologicky orientované čtenáře možná překvapí jistý přesah do humanitních oborů, především archeologie. Domníváme se, že je těžké představit si studium člověka bez holistického pohledu, kdy se biologie a kultura vzájemně ovlivňují.
The short editorial of this issue highlights the blurred and dynamically changing boundaries of anthropology as a scientific discipline. The text puts into context the papers that appear in this special issue of Živa. It mentions also some of studies that were not possible to publish because of limited space. The biologically oriented reader may be surprised with an overlap into the disciplines from the humanities, especially archaeology. However, our opinion is that it would be hard to imagine a study of mankind without a holistic view, as biology and culture are mutually interacting.
