In May, 2010, the Czech Republic held parliamentary elections. The two parties that partnered with the ODS after the 2006 elections in minority government, the KDU-ČSL and the Green Party, are now absent from parliament. Two new parties, TOP 09 and Public Affairs, sprung onto the scene with over 10% votes each. The two pillars of the party system, the ODS and the CSSD, lost substantial support in the election. The new majority government is comprised of the ODS, TOP 09 and Public Affairs.
