We surveyed the opinion on the level of indebtment among the Czech citizens and on the level of indebtment of the Czech state. Two thirds (68%) of people believe that for the income of their household they can buy or pay less than a year ago, 26% believe that the real income of their households is about the same as a year before, and only 4% of respondents said that their real income during the last year has increased.

December’s survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic. This press release presents a more comprehensive analysis of what stand people take against the current pension system and the possibility of its reform. 57 % of respondents express opinion that the current pension system needs change. About one third of Czechs (33 %) approves the introduction of the second pillar of the pension system. At the same time, only 17 % of respondents agree with the current form of the pension reform.

December’s survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic and its possible change. We asked a selected part of our respondents that are not yet retired, whether they use any form of savings or investments to put money aside for their retirement, whether they fear they might not be sufficiently secured when retired, and what are their expectations regarding the sufficiency of pensions paid by the state. 81 % of respondents assume that the state pension will not provide them with sufficient financial resources. On the other hand, only 56 % of people have their independent savings or investment plan to secure them for the retirement.
