International Cooperation

The Institute of Philosophy participates in a range of international research projects funded from public and private resources in Europe and beyond. The Institute also concludes international cooperation agreements with major scientific institutions, mainly in Europe. There are currently several dozen projects and agreements.
Among the notable international projects in recent years are:

Origins of the Vernacular Mode. Regional Identities and European Networks in Late Medieval Europe
This project is financed by the ERC. It looks at vernacular literatures in Bohemia in the 14th and 15th centuries as social categories that allow us to reconstruct the complex processes of identity formation in individuals and social groups alike.

Language, Reality, Fiction: Philosophy and Literary Theory on the Sources and Determinants of Meaning
This interdisciplinary project is situated at the intersection of philosophy, aesthetics and literary theory. It explores the methods of applying the semantic functions of linguistic expressions in various types of discourse.

Cultures of Knowledge: An Intellectual Geography of the Seventeenth-Century Republic of Letters
This project is supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. It is focused on researching and reconstructing the networks of scholarly correspondence which influenced the development of 17th-century thinking and science.
