Levitational photonics
Our research focuses on the mechanical aspect of interaction of light with matter and in particular with micro- and nano-particles of various size, material and morphology. Activities cover mainly fundamental research which is directed towards light-matter interaction for investigating of quantum mechanics of macroscopic system and their opto-mechanics. We focused not only on system of a single optically levitated micro-/nano-object but also on much complex system of many optically interacting objects.
Recent and actual topics:
- Optical trapping of plasmonic nanoparticles of various morphology
- Optical binding of micro-objects in various scenarios.
- Experimental realization of tractor beam and its utilization for efficient optical sorting and particle transport.
- Study of particle’s stochastics in cubic potential.
- Cooling of a center of mass motion of optically levitated nano-particle in optical trap.
- Rotational opto-mechanics with non-spherical particles
