The remarkable properties of shape memory alloys (SMA) that are utilized in a number of useful applications are due to a phase transformation between austenite and martensite. Zuzana Broučková received the "Outstanding Paper Award" for the best paper in the "Jets" session at the HEFAT 2016 conference in Spain, held on 11-13 July 2016. The paper was entitled: Z. Broučková and Z. Trávníček: "Visualization and Heat Transfer Study of a Synthetic Jet Impinging on a Circular Cylinder".
