Since 1993, the Institute has been publishing a special reviewed historical journal Soudobé dějiny [Contemporary History], which focuses on a broad range of international 20th century topics, with an emphasis on primary historical research. Except for a few translated articles, the journal brings only original authored contributions. Since 2013, the Institute has also been publishing an English version – Czech Journal of Contemporary History, the purpose of which is, on the other hand, to make important studies, essays, reports and reviews previously published in the Czech version available to the international community and to contribute to the academic debate at the international level.
