IOCB Prague is the lead institution and central node of the ELIXIR Czech Republic (ELIXIR CZ) research infrastructure, a member of ELIXIR.
ELIXIR unites European leading life science organizations and institutions in managing and safeguarding the increasing volume of data being generated by publicly funded research. It coordinates, integrates and sustains bioinformatics resources across its member states and enables users in academia and industry to access vital services for their research.
ELIXIR CZ is a consortium of fourteen organizations involving major universities and academic institutions. ELIXIR CZ acts as a national hub for bioinformatics, maintaining access to computational environment, dedicated data collections and unique tools provided for the life science community. Partner institutions of the ELIXIR CZ consortium are providing tools and databases in an open access regime as well as trainings for Czech scientists and international research community.
The ELIXIR CZ Node also serves as a coordinator of national bioinformatics activities and it is responsible for data uniformity, ELIXIR-standard application and accessibility.
