On November 6, 2008 the Institute of Thermomechanics AS CR has become one of the first guests of the newly opened Techmania Science Center in Pilsen on the occasion of the Science & Technology Week attended by the Academy of Sciences. The presentation gave the supporters of science an opportunity to get acquainted with the appeal of science and learn more about the latest research in the premises of the newly revamped production building.

The scientists of the Institute of Thermomechanics gave poster presentations and lectures on mechatronics and mobile robotics, biomechanical modeling of human voice, advanced optics used in crime diagnostics, microfluidics, generators for wind power stations and other interesting topics. The engineering community and university students were introduced to modeling of atmospheric phenomena for pollution, catastrophy and terrorist events, as well as experimental high-speed aerodynamics and latest vibrodiagnostic systems.
