Abstract: Far-infrared techniques played a crucial role in the experimental validation of Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer (BCS) theory and they continue to provide fundamental information about condensate, quasiparticle and vortex behaviour in both equilibrium and non-equilibrium states of superconductors.
