Abstract:
The capability of tagging very forward protons allows TOTEM to study various non-perturbative hadronic phenomena at LHC, including total cross-section, elastic scattering, diffraction etc. Recent measurements suggest the existence of a QCD state of 3 interacting gluons. A combination of TOTEM with CMS presents an ideal apparatus for studying central exclusive production.
