Abstract: The subject of this research is a study of defence response of Brassica napus against fungal pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans using microscopy, spectrophotometry and molecular biology methods. The fungus Leptosphaeria maculans (Desm.) represents the most serious disease, causing so-called “blackleg disease” of oilseed rape and canola. This threatening disease is spread worldwide, including the Czech Republic, where causes significant yield losses. Two isolates of L.maculans (virulent and avirulent) are used in this research.
