IVY Interreg

ITAM joined a European initiative Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) through an Interreg AT-CZ 133 project with its main investigator Dan Kytýř. The initiative's goal is to offer to young Europeans (18-30) an opportunity to work as a volunteer in a cross-border, multinational and international programmes and related projects. The initiative is a part of the wider concept of European Solidarity Corps.

The initiative supported by the European Commission was launched in March 2017 and is managed by the Association of European Cross-border Regions. Volunteers can participate either on Europeans cross-border programmes or any particular project from those programmes. Job description and its extend are subject to agreement between a host organization and a volunteer. A bonus for both volunteers and host organization are a very small administrative burden and their quick execution.

The first ITAM volunteer will arrive in August 2018 and she will help in the Department of Biomechanics, where Daniel Kytýř will be her mentor. One of the conditions of participation is writing of a blog, on which the volunteers share their experience and spread awareness about their particular project and the whole initiative.
