Research interest
Computer simulations of biologically relevant systems with special focus on membranes and glycocalyx, using a multi-scale approach: from mean field methods to atomic resolution, using classical molecular dynamics. The most relevant topics I work on are:
  • Glycocalyx structure and functionality with special focus on their charged components.
  • Membrane structure and membrane dynamics.
  • Interaction of gold nanoparticles with membranes.
  • Study of dynamics of proteins in the crowded cytosol environment.
  • Study of GPCR dynamics in the plasma membrane.
  • Modeling of Fluorescence Correlation microscopy in membranes (FCS) using molecular dynamics.
  • Unraveling how composition of HDL nanoparticles (cholesterol carriers) modulates their structure.
  • Test of force field accuracy of biomolecules, especially lipids.
  • Development of tools to use for projects involving molecular dynamics simulations.
