Organic chemistry

New amino carbohydrates and highly functionalized amino acids and are of strongly growing interest in drug discovery and biology. With the project new stereoselective pathways to multifunctional polyamino sugars and amino acids will be investigated, which consist in oxidative tandem enolate amination using diazocarboxylates and amidyl radical cyclizations. The oxidative conditions will allow the incorporation of valuable functionality in the resulting pyrazolidines. The target structures can be accessed subsequently through functionalization reactions.
