Scattering matrix approach to the anomalous Hall effect

Two-dimensional network model representing array of coupled orbitals of the non-zero orbital momentum has been used to describe qualitative features of the anomalous Hall effect and origin of the topological phase transformation. For the coupling stronger than a critical value the existence of chiral edge states has been observed. Corresponding anomalous Hall conductivity becomes quantized as experimentally observed on magnetic topological insulators.
