Economic transformation after 1989 and the global economic recession that began in 2008 have caused an increase in precarious work in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. As a result of refamilialization, precarious work acquired a specific form for women.

This article develops a critical analysis of transformations of the idea and practice of women’s emancipation in late-modern Western society under the influence of globalizing advanced capitalism. It builds on analyses of feminist critical theory and critical globalization studies and argues that global capitalism initiates processes in which the practice of emancipation is distorted.

Kniha přispívá k diskusi o podmínkách a okolnostech politické participace žen v ČR. Vychází z aktuálních dat kvantitativní i kvalitativní povahy. Představuje teoretické přístupy k uchopení problematiky žen v politice, zaměřuje se na zastoupení žen v politice v českém kontextu a na jeho vývoj, na názory a postoje české veřejnosti na ženy v politice a nástroje jejich podpory a věnuje se také životním a pracovním drahám vrcholových političek.

Kniha poskytuje přehled teorií a dostupného empirického výzkumu, a přehled o situaci a institucionálním uspořádání v oblasti péče o starší v České republice. Představuje výsledky vlastního empirického výzkumu veřejného a politického diskurzu o péči o seniory a biografického výzkumu neformálních pečujících v České republice.

This article focuses on the intersection of gender, class and racial/ethnic inequalities. The intersection theory draws on the feminist critique of traditional class theory and on the challenge to feminism posed by ethnic women. The article develops thinking about various configurations of the intersection of inequalities and addresses mainly the case of marginalized women.

The paper presents a feminist critique of globalization. The mainstream theories of globalization have a masculine bias. Bringing gender aspects to globalization characterizes global actors and creates a framework for global issues. Mostly the economic globalization and the changes of the organization of labour globally are addressed. The link between the hegemonic form of masculinity and feminized production is described.
