Project: Development, manufacturing and calibration of DSS-LG sun sensor for BMSW-LG instrument for Luna-glob mission
The main task of the proposed project is to develop, manufacture a and calibrate DSS-LG sun sensor which will precisely measure the attitude (orientation) of BMSW-LG instrument with respect to the sun. This instrument will measure characteristics of solar wind in the vicinity of Moon with high angular (0.05 deg) and time resolution (30 ms). These measurements should improve our knowledge about solar wind and its interaction with Earth’s magnetosphere and bodies in the interplanetary space. A possible application of this research is a better forecast of space weather.
