Abstract: We give an introductory talk on the theory of zero set
of eigenfunctions of the Laplacian.
Concentrating to a conjecture of Payne's from 1967,
we give a summary of known results
and present our proof of the conjecture
for thin curved tubes.
The latter is a joint work with Pedro Freitas.
