Scientist/Engineer for development of magnetic sensors and real-time feedback systems for the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak
Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy Sciences of the Czech Republic (IPP) has initiated a construction of new large scientific experiment in the field of the thermonuclear fusion research – the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak. IPP is looking for new engineers and physicists, who will participate in development of magnetic sensors and real-time feedback systems for the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak.
Requirements and Skills:
- university or high school education in physics or electrical, nuclear or physical engineering (master, engineer, PhD student or postdoc)
- English - working knowledge
- to be familiar with physics of magnetic fields, magnetic sensors (coils, Hall probes), low voltage electronics including amplifiers and integrators
- knowledge of programming in Python, Matlab or IDL and some experience with development of/measurements with magnetic sensors are beneficial
