The aim of the conference is to discuss contemporary problems of fluid mechanics and to bring out latest results obtained in frame of grant projects supported by grant agencies in Czech Republic and abroad. The aim of the summer school is to present a comprehensive series of lectures on modern as well as classical problems related to fluid-structure interaction. The emphasize will be on mathematical, computational and experimental topics originating in biomedical applications. Dr. Radka Kellnerová was awarded the prize for best young authors' presentation at the PHYSMOD 2011 conference held in Hamburg on August 22-24, 2011 for her paper entitled Proper orthogonal decomposition of velocity and vorticity field within the street canyon and wavelet analysis of the expansion coefficients.
