Seminar

Organisers: Division of Elementary Particle Physics
Abstrakt:

The top quark is the most peculiar of particles. It experiences the two strongest forces of the Standard Model (SM): the strong interaction with gluons, as well as the Yukawa interaction with the Higgs boson. A complete knowledge of the top-Higgs sector is essential, and the path towards it offers opportunities for SM precision tests, whilst also providing possible clues for new physics. I will review recent theoretical progress in the simulation of top quarks at the LHC, with a particular focus on Monte Carlo event generators and the related theoretical developments allowing for the inclusion of radiative corrections in the top quark production as well as its decay.
