Tlamovec Tropheus duboisi je mezi akvaristy oblíbená cichlida z afrického jezera Tanganika. Je to ryba zajímavá etologicky. V přírodě žije v malých skupinách, v akváriu bývá agresivní, proto se doporučuje chov ve velkém prostoru a ve větších skupinách (agresivita se tak sníží). Autor popisuje nároky na chemismus vody, výživu, krmení a reprodukční biologii.

The White Spotted Cichlid (Tropheus duboisi) is a tough and rugged cichlid from Lake Tanganyika, popular among aquarists. In the wild the fish species lives in small groups and displays aggressive behaviour in the aquarium. Therefore, the author recommends keeping the cichlid in a large space and in more numerous groups which should result in less aggressive behaviour. Water quality and the feeding requirements and reproduction biology of the species are also described in the article.
