North European Symposium for Archaeological Textiles

The NESAT XIII symposium will be organized by the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, v. v. i., and the Faculty of Textile Engineering, Technical University of Liberec in cooperation with Prague Castle Administration. The event will be held on 22–26 May 2017, at the Technical University in Liberec, building G, Studentská Street 2, Liberec, Czech Republic.

CONFERENCE GOALS
Following the example of the previous conferences in Esslingen (Germany) and Hallstatt (Austria), NESAT XIII will cover the subject of prehistoric and historic textile finds, focussing on the contextual analysis of finds and new methods. Papers on other current research topics related to archaeological textiles are also welcome. The organizers encourage papers that present lesser-known or recently excavated textiles, techniques and iconography that will generate discussion and exchange of information among conference attendees. In addition, this conference will include a poster session. Posters can be focussed on any topic related to archaeological textiles, but should be primarily visual.

CALL FOR PAPERS AND POSTERS
Papers will be presented in English or German; they should not exceed 20 minutes in length. Paper abstracts should not exceed 500 words and should be submitted as a Word- or PDF-file.
Posters in English or German will be accepted in A0 (portrait) or A1 format. Poster abstracts should be of no more than 300 words and submitted as a Word- or PDF-file.
The conference programme will encompass 45 presentations in 12 sessions, and poster capacity is 40 at the most.
