Workshop / Mon, 28/04/2014 - 09:00 to Tue, 29/04/2014 - 18:00

Ad hoc workshops are small two days workshops organized by authors of the crystallographic software Jana2006. The topics and dates are selected by participants in Jana web pages. A workshop is organized as soon as an overlap in subscribed topics is found.

Workshop / Thu, 24/04/2014 - 09:00 to Fri, 25/04/2014 - 18:00

Ad hoc workshops are small two days workshops organized by authors of the crystallographic software Jana2006. The topics and dates are selected by participants in Jana web pages. A workshop is organized as soon as an overlap in subscribed topics is found. The topics of the 17th workshop are as follows: (INT1) Simple 3d structures; (INT2) Simple 4d modulated structures; (DIS) Disordered structures; (RIG) Application of rigid body; (TW) Twinning. Program details will be given in the workshop page.

Workshop / Wed, 22/01/2014 - 13:00 to Fri, 24/01/2014 - 13:00

The goal of the workshop is that each participant will calculate crystal field parameters of the rare earth in a compound of his choice. The method can be applied to arbitrary local symmetry of rare-earth site.

Workshop / Thu, 16/01/2014 - 09:00 to Fri, 17/01/2014 - 18:00

This workshop explains usage of the general purpose crystallographic program Jana2006 for refinement of magnetic structures from neutron powder or single crystal data. Jana2006 includes tools for determination of magnetic symmetry from the symmetry of diffraction pattern as well as tools for representation analysis. It can find direct relationship between magnetic space or superspace group and corresponding representation and use it in the refinement.

Workshop / Mon, 16/12/2013 - 09:00 to Tue, 17/12/2013 - 18:00

This workshop explains and demonstrates the method of electron diffraction tomography. Using practical examples, it explains the whole process starting from electron diffraction data collection and processing, followed by solution of the phase problem and finished by refinement of crystal structures using either kinematical or dynamical theory.

Workshop / Thu, 07/11/2013 - 13:00 to Fri, 08/11/2013 - 15:00

The 9th Interregional Workshop on Advanced Nanomaterials (IWAN) will be held in Prague on 7th – 8th November 2013. This interregional workshop represents a good meeting platform for materials scientists from three neighboring countries - Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic - working in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Konference / Mon, 29/07/2013 to Sat, 03/08/2013

FQMT’13 is a follow-up to the three previous, successful Prague conferences "Frontiers of Quantum and Mesoscopic Thermodynamics" (FQMT’04, FQMT’08, and FQMT’11). The contributions from these conferences are published in Physica E, vol. 29 (1-2), 2005, Physica E, vol. 42 (3), 2010, and Physica Scripta T151, 2012. The program has two types of lectures.

Konference / Sun, 21/07/2013 to Thu, 25/07/2013

The Institute of Physics AS CR hosts a multidisciplinary symposium, joining together five otherwise independent regular meetings (IUS, ISAF, IFCS, EFTF, PFM) that are all devoted to various applications of piezoelectric materials. The event is organized on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the UFFC (Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control society).

More details can be found on the symposium website.
