The project will be focused on the knowledge-based design of active compounds targeting several biomedicinally relevant enzymes, which are implicated in the diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms or linked to the development of malignancies and metabolic disorders. The compounds will be developed using the fragment-based approach. The work on this project provides the opportunity to acquire an expertise in protein biochemistry, biophysics and structural biology, as well as to get an insight into the rational drug design process through a close collaboration with the medicinal and computational chemistry research teams. The work on the project will be carried out at IOCB ASCR.
