Topic	Phospholane ring-based nucleoside and nucleotide analogs

Abstract	Project is directed towards so far not described nucleoside and nucleotide analogs in deoxy and ribo series, containing phospholane ring instead of the clasic pentofuranose ring. Phosphorus atom fosforu is located in the position of original C4' atom. The prepared modified nucleosides and nucleotides will be subjected to conformational analysis which should reveal the conformational changes of nucleobase and sugar pucker of the five-membered heterocyclus. The inhibition properties of new compounds will be studied with selected salvage pathway enzymes (nucleoside phosphorylases, nucleotidases, etc.), and also thorough antiviral, anticancer, and antimicrobial screening will be run.
