The 865th anniversary of "The Great Moravian Empire and 1150 years of Christianity in the Central Europe" will be observed at the Bratislava Castle from August 7 to November 1. Featured is a unique exhibition with more than 1,200 exhibits consisting mainly of the most valuable archaeological finds from The project seeks to protect the area of archaeological cultural heritage through activation of so far unpublished findings and collections from important Great Moravian sites. It began February 1, 2012 and continues through the end of 2015. Many have the status of the national cultural heritage and have never been exhibited before. Shown are original artefacts from important Great Moravian grave assemblages and illustrative reconstitutions of these burials and of selected Great Moravian churches. The CAS Institute of Archaeology, Brno, the Moravian Museum and other institutions jointly produced this unique exhibition. Similar events took place in Brno (November 27, 2014 – February 28, 2015), and at the Prague Castle Imperial Stables (April 17– June 28, 2015).
