After a brief review of some of the empirical correlations between dark and baryonic sectors within galaxies, I will discuss a novel theory of dark matter superfluidity as a potential explanation of these observations. I will argue that, depending on the mass and self-interaction cross section of dark matter particles, the superfluid may in principle be formed in the central regions of galactic halos. After this, I will discuss the criteria that need to be met by superfluid properties in order to account for the above-mentioned empirical correlations.
