The principal goal of the project is twofold: (1) to support the operation and development of the social science research data infrastructure provided by the Czech Social Science Data Archive (CSDA), and (2) to ensure Czech participation in large scale pan-European research infrastructure CESSDA. CSDA is a national social science data centre in the Czech Republic which acquires, processes and archives datasets from Czech and international social research and makes these data publicly available for research and training purposes. CSDA also participates in networks of transnational data access, facilitates Czech participation in international comparative surveys, and promotes secondary data analysis in social science research. CSDA is the Czech node within the pan-European distributed research infrastructure ‘Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives’ (CESSDA) and is also the CESSDA Service Provider in the Czech Republic. The main objective of CESSDA, which has been established under the auspices of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) Roadmap, is to provide seamless access to social science data across repositories, countries, languages and research domains. CESSDA has developed a comprehensive and integrated social data research infrastructure based on the interconnection and collaboration of national data archives. In addition, CESSDA continues to develop and co-ordinate standards and protocols and defines professional best practices pertaining to the preservation and dissemination of data.

This article presents an analysis of the construct validity of the Right-Wing Authoritarianism (RWA) scale measured on a nationally representative sample of respondents in the Czech Republic. The authors – adhering to a paradigm of internationally comparative research – test whether the RWA scale, which was originally developed in the North American cultural milieu, can serve as a valid measurement instrument in a significantly different cultural environment.
