Fighting for harmonization of grant’s potential

An interview with Professor Ivan Netuka, president of the Czech Science Foundation (CSF) is also featured. Professor Netuka is an internationally recognized authority in mathematical analysis. A representative of the Prague school of potential theory and author of significant publications in this field, he is also deeply interested in the history of mathematics. He was vice-president of the CSF since 2008; in October 2014, the Government of the Czech Republic appointed him President. Currently a member of the CAS Board for scientific degree DSc, he was a member of the CAS Academic Assembly. Professor Netuka is also a member of the Board of the Academy’s Institute of Mathematics.
The Foundation promotes progress in and supports all disciplines across the spectrum of basic research in this country. Providing financial support on the basis of public tender for research projects submitted by individuals or organizations is its primary function.
