Recently, new antiinflammatory lipid derivatives have been discovered in humans. With the current project new short approaches to Neuroprotectins, Resolvins, Hepoxilins and Trioxilins and synthetic analogs will be developed. For this purpose iron-catalyzed cross-coupling methodolgy will be developed to construct the central triene units stereoselectively. The biological activity of these compounds will be eveluated in cooperation.
