Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences (LCAS) is a public research institution whose purpose is to conduct scientific research in the area of scientific information and library science, to establish a research-oriented information infrastructure, and to provide library-based, informational, and reprographic services to the institutes of Czech Academy of Sciences and other users active in research and science. What new to read and borrow at our library? As every month, we prepared for you an overview of new books and selected top ten, which we want to draw your attention to. These selected ones are now available to peep into at the study, you can also access its digital form in the Digital Library of the CAS.

Notice: Exceptional library closure on Friday 5 April (9 a.m.–1:30 p.m.)
On Friday 5 April 2019 the library will be closed from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. for operational reasons.
During the closure the loans can be returned into book return box in the lobby.
From 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. the library will be open as usual.
We are sorry for inconveniences and thank you for your understanding.

What February news can you find in our collection? As every month, we bring you a full list of new printed books along with 10 selected ones, which we want to drag your attention to.
The chosen ones are displayed in the study, you can borrow or reserved them right away. They are also available in the Computer Study via the Digital Library of the LCAS.

New items – January 2019
New items overview for the January – it’s possible to view the whole list at once or have it sorted out by fields of knowledge.
A selection of ten interesting new arrivals is available for browsing in the study (without having to order them in advance) and it simultaneously possible to browse these publications in digitalised form on the computer reserved for work with the Digital library of Czech Academy of Sciences. You can leaf through them there and possibly print out parts of them.
