In the November survey of the Public Opinion Research Centre included issues related to social policy. It surveyed citizens' views on that how much the individual areas of social policy are secured. At the same time the block of questions included an item, in which citizens had to comment the social policy as a whole.

In the November investigation the Centre for Public Opinion Research included issues related to social policy. First, we examined the extent to which social security should be ensured by the state in the view of Czech citizens, what the level of social security is and whether the social benefits should be granted all the citizens, or just certain groups of society. Next, we asked how the government cares about citizens' social situation and how the citizens themselves take care about their social situation. The research also looked at the evaluation of the level of abusing of the social security system.

December’s survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic. This press release presents a more comprehensive analysis of what stand people take against the current pension system and the possibility of its reform. 57 % of respondents express opinion that the current pension system needs change. About one third of Czechs (33 %) approves the introduction of the second pillar of the pension system. At the same time, only 17 % of respondents agree with the current form of the pension reform.

December’s survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic and its possible change. We asked a selected part of our respondents that are not yet retired, whether they use any form of savings or investments to put money aside for their retirement, whether they fear they might not be sufficiently secured when retired, and what are their expectations regarding the sufficiency of pensions paid by the state. 81 % of respondents assume that the state pension will not provide them with sufficient financial resources. On the other hand, only 56 % of people have their independent savings or investment plan to secure them for the retirement.

In the November investigation the Centre for Public Opinion Research included issues related to social policy. Citizens commented on the fact how much the government cares about the social situation of citizens and how citizens care about their own social situation. Furthermore, financial support of selected areas of social policy were evaluated. One question also measured public opinion about how frequently are social benefits misused by people who are granted.

November's survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning the social policy. Within this bloc, we posed a question, in what extent the state should take care of social security of its citizens. Subsequently, a set of questions was asked investigating, how the citizens evaluate the level of security in different areas of social policy. Approximately four fifth (82 %) of all population evaluate the social policy in the Czech Republic as rather or very wrong.

In November 2011 the Public Opinion Research Centre survey has focused extensively on social policy issues. One of the questions examined public opinion on state expenditures in various areas of social policy. People were also asked, how much they think the government cares about the social situation of citizens, and how much the social security system in the Czech Republic is abused by its beneficiaries.
