9.30 Medieval Cemeteries at the Periphery of the Carolingian World
The first part deals with the cemeteries of Stará Kouřim„U Libuše“ in Bohemia, Pohansko „Herrenhof“ in Moravia and Thunau „Obere Holzwiese“ in Northern Austria. They are all situated in regions that are dominated by Slavonic populations but strongly influenced by the Carolingian Empire especially regarding the ways of personal representation. All of them comprise several hundred burials with hundreds of grave goods and they have been published in the form of printed books. In the first part of the presentation, a short overview of the archaeological remains will be given, focusing mainly on the site of Thunau.

11.30 Digital Dissemination
In the second part, we will discuss how we can and/or should deal with archaeological data of burials in the 21st c. Besides publishing results as open access publications, it is also necessary to provide the data itself in a sustainable form that allows researchers for further analyses. The data model used for the data acquisition will be presented along with the technical framework. Last but not least it will be discussed in which way the information can be disseminated and digitally distributed to allow for sustainable further usage.
